For this project we had to draw a display of fruit and vegetables that were put together on a table. We drew it on palette paper, then we painted a light wash with acrylic paint. We painted each item it's opposite color on the color wheel. For the background and the places with white we painted it burnt sienna. I used a brush for this painting and i think that is it easier compared to using a palette knife. I like how it turned out, but one of the difficulties of painting with oils is that it takes a long time to dry unless you use the Liquin to help it dry faster. Also when you paint a different color on top of another color they will just blend together and that color will overtake the original color that was already there. You need to know when to leave something alone so that it can dry so you don't create a muddy painting. I don't think oils are my favorite but i do like using them, but not with a palette knife. I think this painting came out pretty good.

We started out with this project using oils and this was my first time using them. I used a palette knife to paint the pumpkin. I think i did pretty good for my first time using them. They're very different from acrylic paint. Painting with oils will take some time to get used to so i'm still learning how to use them and what not to do.
For this project it is inspired by Hundertwasser. In his paintings there are lots of colors and different patterns.
For this painting i used the dry brush technique to do the trees and the grass, i think it was pretty effective in making them look realistic. I had to paint many layers or you could see though the paint. What i painted is a little different from what i would usually choose to paint. The only difficult parts of this painting was the layering, trying to make the water flow and make waves, and doing the trees. I could've did better on the dock and put it in better perspective. I did not use the original colors from my pictures because they were a little too dark so i changed them up. I do like the colors that i used, they go well together. What i learned about watercolor is that you have to put a lot of layers and to not use too much water with the paint, it could mess up the papers and make it more difficult to paint.
For this mini project we had to choose a fruit or a vegetable and paint it in four different color schemes. I chose an apple and the color schemes i used were monochromatic, warm, analogous, and complementary. We had to add value and create a shadow. This wasn't too difficult, the only one i had a problem with was the complementary colors because they were mixing to make brown.
